ByWishtrend: Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash

I have seen enzyme facial cleanser from Japanese beauty magazine a long time ago. It is famous because of its cleansing and blackheads eliminate power. I have seen so many Asian bloggers and magazines recommend using enzyme facial cleanser to help eliminate blackheads. I always want to try it once, but I never buy one since they are little pricey for me compared to most facial cleanser. It is why I am so happy when Wishtrend kindly sends me this ByWishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash to review for free. You can also check out my sidebar to see if there is any discount right now. Please make sure read my notes below since not every products suit every skin type.  Enough said, let’s get started on the basic information about this cleanser.

Size & Price:

Originally $22 USD for 70g on Wishtrend.

Main Claim:

Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash with a delightful green tea latte scent, with a hydrating finish. Consisting baking powder, coconut-derived surfactant, and enzymes, it controls blackheads while hydrating without tugging and pulling the skin.

Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda), Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Sorbitol, Papain, Betaine, Cellulose Gum, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate

Looks & Smell:

It has a light green tea scent. It is like regular foaming cleanser except it is in a powder form. We pour the similar amount as we normally do for regular foaming cleanser. Then we add little warm water to lather it up. Here is the key: If you want to use it as a scrub, you only add few drops of water to make a thick paste. Otherwise, add an adequate amount of water to lather some foam. If you do it correctly, it will look like melted mocha ice cream as the picture shown above. Once it looks like that, add a little bit of water to lather more. The right picture above is less than half of the middle picture. The rest was on my face.

Tips & My Experience

If you are the first time using any enzyme facial cleanser, make sure use it at most 2 to 3 times a week. Due to their cleansing power, they can dry out our skin.  It is better to use a moisturizing toner, sheet mask, or moisturizer right after using it. I was dumb that I used this cleanser every day for about a week, and my skin started breaking out. I thought since this cleanser claims it has natural pH, it is fine to be used every day. Well, please learn from my mistake, or you may need to spend few more months to clear acne scars like I do.

This cleanser is doing a great job at cleansing and brightening as it claims. I can see my face looks brighter and less tired. Unfortunately, it doesn’t eliminate any of my blackheads. It is the same as other cleansers that they clean our pores but blackheads come back after few hours. This cleansing powder makes my skin smooth and soft. I use it as an exfoliator now. Regular exfoliators with microbeads are harsh for my skin. This one just works perfectly. After the first week, I use it twice a week, and it doesn’t break me out anymore. I tried to use it to remove makeup. It cannot clean eyeliner or lipstick completely, but I prefer using it after cleansing most of my makeup with oil cleanser when I wear heavy makeup.

I personally feel disappointed at this cleanser. It doesn’t work for me at all. If you read my review for the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask, I at least find another way to use it, and it helps me in another way. I still use it as the last step in my night skincare routine. This cleanser doesn’t do what it claims. It doesn’t control the number of blackheads. As I mention above, I need to immediately hydrate my skin really well after I use this cleanser so it definitely not has a hydrating finish. I think maybe the ratio of baking soda can be lower a little bit. I think it is the main reason to dry and irritate my skin. I know this cleanser works well for a lot of people, but I think this cleanser is better for people with oily skin. Although they recommend this cleanser to acne-prone skin, if you know the cause of your acne is lack of water-oil balance, I would not suggest this cleanser.

Overall, it is a good cleanser to replace any exfoliator with microbeads. It is gentle enough for my sensitive skin. Although it is a bit drying for me, if we moist our skin well after using it, it will be fine. Sometimes I mix it with other cleansers to make it less drying. I think people with oily skin will love it. I should save some to try during summer since I have oilier skin during the warmer season. I may love it. By the way, ByWishtrend is cruelty-free and they don’t import to mainland China so I am happy to try more ByWishtrend products and share my experience on my blog. And, check this cleanser out on They have sale occasionally. You may find a great deal.

  1. This sounds decent although it was drying and didn’t perform as promised. The price is really reasonable though. I just recently tried a sample of the enzyme powder wash from AmorePacific – it was just ok. It’s really expensive for what it is. But yes, say no to microbeads – those things are evil and I’m glad companies have pledged to phase them out! (at least here in Canada, they have)

    1. I am wonder if all of these enzyme face wash contain baking soda. I don’t know if it works because of the baking soda or the enzyme.

  2. Green tea can help clear out the system and it has a very unique taste. Perhaps it’s time to try the ointment. It’s been far too long my friend. We’ve got a new short out called The Writers Block and we always look forward to your feedback. Hope to see you there

    1. Green tea is good for our health and skin. I like it 😉 And yea, it is why I stop using any cleanser with microbeads. They don’t work well for everyone either. If my skill doesn’t react to chemical peels, I would use chemical exfoliator instead.

    1. Haha Yea I did. I spend a day to test color combination. I was going to make it more mint but decide to use this one since it looks more soft and gentle to our eyes XD

    1. Thanks 😉
That is in gel form so I guess it will be more hydrating compared to this one. I think enzyme cleanser overall help our skin looks brighter and healthier.
