Draw a rainbow: Etude House – Super Slim Proof Gel Pencil Liner

Hello, friends! I finally posted a short review about thisΒ Etude House Super Slim Proof Gel Pencil Liner. I mentioned it in myΒ August 2017 Favorite. This is my all-time favorite and is the best eyeliner I have ever used. I am using this every time I do my makeup. I think you guys will like it too.

This gel liner has 10 different color options and costs $9.8 USD. (I bought mine on sale around $6 USD). This liner only has 1.5mm thick so it allowsΒ us to draw a very slim line. Although it is thin, it is not hard or sharp. In fact, it is very soft and smooth. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I only bought 6 out of 10 colors to try, and here are the swatches and some test:

As you may see from the video, it is really creamy and smooth on skin. The color is really pigmented. The color actually is slightly off with the pen package, but it is the same with the picture online.

The picture on their officialΒ website is really accurate so we don’t need to worry about getting a totally different color. Since this liner is pretty new, I think Etude House may add more colors later. But the color they offer can easily draw a rainbow on our eyes.

On their site, they also mention this liner is water proof so I tested it while filming the video too. It is true that water cannot remove this eyeliner. I also notice it doesn’t melt on my oily eyelid either. It is really long-lasting and won’t get off easily, but it can easily remove by makeup remover wipe. I tried cleansing oil too, but it doesn’t clean as well as the makeup wipe.Β Compare to other eyeliner, I think this is a huge plus since most long-lasting eyeliners are very difficult to remove, and it causesΒ wrinkles if we are harsh to our eyes.

I really like using them together. For example, use the pink on upper eye lineΒ and orange on the lower eye line. It is very simple and pretty. I love colored eyeliner. They can help me create a look effortlessly. I think it is cool for people who don’t do much makeup and get bored with black eyeliner. I recently love picking a random color and draw a winged eyeliner with some compact and a cute color lip balm. Easy simple and everyday little different look.

The only thing maybe a minus is the design. This is those twist type eye liner. It can only twist out and cannot twist back the product. If you twist too much, it may break and waste some product since it is so soft, but once get usedΒ to it, it will not be a problem.

So far, I give it 5/5 since I just love it all! I am really not good at drawing eyeliner, but this helps me draw the perfect line and very easy to adjust the line. I also love it doesn’t melt on my eyelid for more than 9 hours wear. I don’t need to fix any of my makeup and just have something special for the day. I love it! If you want to try it, you can watch for their sale. Usually, its sale for $6 to $7 USD each. I would recommend trying some bright colors since brown eyeliner is too common. I hope Etude House going to add more color option since I want to try more different colors.

Do you use colored eyeliner?

  1. I’ve heard great things about these! Love how many colours they come in and are affordable too! I like the shade Rose Brown (I know, I’m boring!)
The twist up design is a bit annoying – I also find I go through these types of liners faster.
    Great video!

    1. Haha Rose brown is a beautiful color and more interesting than choco brown πŸ˜‰ I think it will look good on you. It looks like light brown at first but when look at it closely, it has a little red tone to it. Really cute.
I prefer twist type over pencil since I break so many whenever I sharpen them. Liquid eyeliner is too hard for me since they don’t dry fast.
It is also why I got so many colors. If I finish one, I still have 5 other colors. Haha
      Thanks <3
