Review: Age 20’s Essence Cover Pact

I have been trying different base makeup product to find one that best fit me, and this Age 20’s Essence Cover Pact Original SPF50+/PA+++ #Pink Latte #21 is a giveaway prize that I won from ImageBeautyStore Instagram. So yeah! Huge thanks to the image’s team for the giveaway!  I never hear Age 20’s and this compact foundation. I assumed it is cushion type by the packaging. But let’s see how I like it on my first try 😉

This YouTube video is the first time I use this product. I have been using this compact foundation every day for almost a week now. I have tried it on primer only, with setting powder only, with both primer and setting powder, and with sunscreen only. So far, I am liking it. It is not the cushion type. It is like the mixture of powder foundation and cushion.

The product comes with an empty case with mirror and two compact foundations. Each compact foundation comes with a puff too. The texture is like hard ice cream. I need to press hard to get the product on the puff. It is why you see the crack on the picture above. The more I use it, the more I like it. Although I do not recommend this to people with oily skin or who hate shininess, I love this natural finish, and it is very lightweight. Most importantly, it doesn’t break out my skin.

Price

It is sold about $32 USD on Amazon for 12.5g with a refill so it is $32 USD for 25g of product. It is on the pricey side for me. And it has less amount of product compared to most base products in the industry.

Coverage

For me, it has medium coverage. It can cover redness and even out skin tone without giving the ghost white color. It can cover about 70% of acne and acne scars. It also makes lines less noticeable. It cannot cover large pores without a decent primer. I would say it is for people who have perfect or almost perfect skin. If you like natural finish and doesn’t mind showing little imperfection, it is a good one too.

Benefits

This compact foundation claims it can whitening and anti-wrinkles. Let’s not doubting the “whitening” effect. This product contains SPF 50 PA+++ to protect our skin from the UV which can help us getting our lightest skin tone. Although I haven’t tried this long enough, I have no doubt on the anti-wrinkle. Look at this oily shine on my video. I also notice that I always see fine lines on my lower face after 5 hours of wearing makeup. (I need to take care of my skin better.) But, for this compact foundation, I notice the fine lines are less visible compared to other base products I have tried. I also didn’t feel my skin get dry while wearing it. Another interesting thing I found is, although it looks so shiny and oily, I don’t feel heavy or oily though out the day. It is not slippery either.

Staying Power

If you don’t mind the shine, it can stay a good 8+ hours. For me, even I wear it without primer or setting powder,  it doesn’t melt and still provides 90% coverage after 8+ hours. It doesn’t clog my pores or cake up. Some base makeup would have product stick into the fine lines or wrinkles, but this one doesn’t. Just keep in mind that it would make our skin shinier after time. The longer you wear, the shinier it gets. So, make sure bring a face powder or something that can stop our faces become a mirror.

The picture below is how it looks after 6 hours without primer and face powder. I think it is doing a great job.

Summary

Pro:

  • Very lightweight
  • Natural glowy finish
  • Long-lasting
  • Not drying
  • Doesn’t break out my skin

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Oily looking after few hours
  • Medium coverage
  • Need face powder

Overall, I will give it a 4/5 without thinking about the price. If considering the price, I would give it a 3/5 since I expect more from expensive makeup product. At least fix this oily looking issue. Now, I use it with primer and setting powder to have a natural smooth perfect skin look. I like using it to go to work. It is my most favorite base makeup product so far. Will I purchase it by myself? Probably no. I would rather try other brands to see if there is better and more affordable option.

What do you think about this? Would the oily shine scare you? If this product costs around $20 USD, would you try it?

Congratulations on winning the product, that’s so cool! Just watched your video, it would be a really nice foundation if it weren’t for the oil issue…

Thank you very much! I know. I watched other people videos and they said this product supposed to do sebum control too, but it doesn’t make sense to me. I just believe this oil is for anti-wrinkle XD

I think this product is kind of expensive if it doesn’t take care of the oil issue. But you looked great 🙂

It is the main reason that I won’t buy it with my own money 😂 Hope they will have sales or discount. I honestly think $20 is my maximum.
