Review: Origins – Make a Difference Plus+ Rejuvenating Treatment

I have mentioned in my winter skincare routine that I have been using Origins – Make a difference plus+ Rejuvenating Treatment for a long time. I think I should write a longer review since my skin loves it!

First of all, I want to say this is my personal opinion for this product. I have combination sensitive skin. This product works for me may not work for other people. I just want to share my opinion online, so if someone curious about this product, this post can help them making a decision.

Make a Different Plus+ collection claims that they can repair, replenish and rejuvenate our skin, but I just go for the hydration. I believe if our skin hydrated enough, it will be automatically repaired and brighten up by itself. If you looking for hydration, this collection might be an option for you.

Make a Difference Plus+ Rejuvenating Treatment is a gel type moisturizer. It comes in a thick plastic jar which I think is recyclable (Origins collect empty containers to recycle). It has a lightweight non-sticky consistency, and easy to absorb. It also has a fragrance. I believe it is the rose of Jericho which is the main selling ingredient for  Make a Difference Plus+ collection. I think this smell is pleasant and natural. It kind of smell like grapes for me;). Lucky enough this is not a strong smell, and you won’t smell it anymore after absorption.

I use this as a day moisturizer for the entire year and as a night moisturizer during summer. I have normal to oily skin type, so it works perfectly for me. If I need extra hydration in dryer days, I will use this before I put my night cream since it absorbs really quickly. Although I keep saying it is light-weight, it is not the type that you put it on, after absorb, you feel nothing on your skin. You can still feel the moisture on your skin, but it is not oily like cream type does. And this is the hydration and moisture I want. If you want a moisturizer that can leave you a “light-weight like nothing” feeling, this is not the one for you.

To talk about effectiveness, I feel nothing except my skin stay hydrated and breakout less. Although their collection named “make a difference”, this doesn’t give you any magical change. If you are already using some very good moisturizer, this won’t make your skin any different. I am just having a long time searching for a  best-fit moisturizer, and this moisturizer just comes in my hand and gives my skin what it needs. It is so important for me to find a moisturizer that can balance the hydration and oil level of my skin. I am not sure if this will still fit for me in the future, but it has been working for me for three years.

I recommend you to get a sample or try in store if possible. Try and see if you like the texture and smell. Don’t expect any magical difference make to your skin. If you can find a cheaper alternative, go for it. If you are looking for a moisturizer with other purposes (anti-winkle or whitening), this is not the right product for you. If you are looking for light-weight, gel type, hydration and oil level balance moisturizer, this might be a good product for you.

I honestly need more than hydration now, and I switched to another moisturizer last two months. Although I find other moisturizers that work well for me, I still have a travel size of this as a backup.

I hope this review can help you, and I hope you can find the best fit moisturizer for your skin! Feel free to leave any comment below. What is your favorite moisturizer?

Thanks for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day 🙂

    1. Thank you! I think they are nice to try. Can’t see result fast but not bad. I think their toner works better than their cream and serum.

  1. I find some of these gel type moisturizers not enough for me but they are good for hot summer days! Right now I’m enjoying the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief moisturizer – have you tried that? I first tried it from a gwp sample and fell in love with it and got the full size!

    1. I heard Clinique has very good moisturizer! I will try a small sample next time when I walk by their counter. I really need more than gel during dry weather. But I think I should try using sheet mask more often and see.

  2. I’ve been looking for a good year round moisturizer! I might have to go get this! I really love majority of the “Origins” skin care line but don’t shop it enough to know every product.I’m glad I read your review!!
